Women s Soccer Downed by Washington and Lee

LEXINGTON, Va. The Southern Virginia University women s soccer team fell to cross-town rival Washington and Lee University 5-0 Thursday night.
Getting shots off for the Knights (1-4, 1-0) were Makinna Winterton with a team-high three shots, Racquel Whatcott with two, and Anni Hall with one.
Goalkeeper Alyssa Trueman faced 12 total shots on goal while recording seven saves on the night.
The Generals (4-0, 3-0) controlled the entire first half of the game, only allowing Southern Virginia to get off two shots. Washington and Lee headed into the halftime break with a comfortable 2-0 lead, following goals from Grace Wielechowski at the 16-minute mark and Madeleine Becker in the 44th minute.
