Much has changed in the last 12 months. Manitobans and the business community have been through two more waves of lockdowns, which while devastating to those businesses, has also left consumers with more bucks in the bank ready to be spent.
Fletcher Baragar, an associate professor of economics at the University of Manitoba, said he sees the parallels to our current situation and the economic boom Canada experienced following the second world war.
