Manitoba Tightens COVID-19 Restrictions – April 19, 2021 In Winnipeg, Manitoba Premier Brian Pallister and Dr. Brent Roussin, Manitoba’s chief medical officer of health, announce new public health orders to the slow the spread of COVID-19 and variants of concern in the province. As of April 20, all households may only have two designated visitors indoors. Outdoor gatherings must be limited to 10 people, and religious gatherings are limited to 25 per cent capacity or 50 people, whichever is lower. Retail stores must be limited to one-third their capacity or up to 333 patrons as of April 21. Additionally, the speakers announce the province is entering a new rapid testing partnership with businesses and critical services while also lowering the age of eligibility for the AstraZeneca vaccine to 40.
