GREATER NOIDA: Entrusted with the task of developing an industrial township along the Yamuna expressway and an international airport in Jewar, Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has been exempted from paying income tax.
The Greater Noida Authority was earlier granted similar relief, while the Noida Authority is still fighting a battle with the I-T department for a tax breather.
Issuing a notification on December 24, the Central Board of Direct Taxes said the Yamuna Expressway Authority is not liable to pay taxes on its income. The decision will help YEIDA save close to Rs 200 crore as pending liabilities. The Authority had earlier moved court to seek exemption from paying income tax.

Uttar Pradesh s Minister of Civil Aviation Nand Gopal Gupta will visit the site of the upcoming Noida International Airport and review its work on Wednesday, officials said here on Tuesday. The minister is scheduled to visit Jewar, where the Greenfield project is coming up, and later hold a meeting with Arun Vir Singh, the CEO of Noida International Airport Limited (NIAL) and the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), they said.
The film city will be just six kms from the upcoming international airport in Jewar and 12 kilometres from the Eastern Peripheral Expressway.
NOIDA: The detailed project report, including financial estimates, for setting up a film city near Noida in Uttar Pradesh is likely to be ready by March 2021, according to a senior official.
A consultant was selected on December 14 for preparing the DPR of the film city and once the report is ready, it will be sent to the state government for its approval, Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) CEO Arun Vir Singh said. Property consultant CBRE South Asia, which is a Fortune-500 company, has been given three months time for completing the detailed project report (DPR) for the film city. But efforts are on to have it prepared even before that, he said.
LUCKNOW: The state government said on Sunday that it has issued guidelines for the supply of piped natural gas (PNG) to industrial development authorities with the objective of environmental conservation and providing safe fuel to industries.
The government said steps were being taken to convert major highways of the state into green energy corridors to promote the use of pollutionfree fuel in transport sector.
“Industrial development authorities have been directed to facilitate authorized gas companies for laying of pipelines for network of natural gas in areas of state’s industrial development authorities,” industry minister Satish Mahana said.

GREATER NOIDA: The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has managed to break its past revenue records even in a pandemic-hit year. Half-a-dozen schemes launched by the Authority this fiscal have helped it achieve 50% more revenues than in the corresponding period of the previous financial year, officials said.
This year by November 30, YEIDA had already bagged Rs 1,000 crore. In the last financial year, the Authority was able to churn Rs 1,300 crore as revenue receipt. Sitting on a Rs 2,000 crore strong pipeline through land allotment, YEIDA is eyeing overall investments to the tune of Rs 7,000 crore by 2027-28. The Authority has sold about 567 acres of land from April 1 till December 20 this year.
