South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem announced on social media this week that she was the first candidate to sign the “1776 Pledge to Save Our Schools.”

Following the legislature’s failure to override her veto of the “trans-gender, women in sports bill,” Governor Kristi Noem issued two executive orders telling schools and universities how to apply the policy from the failed bill.
The Associated School Boards of South Dakota advised school districts to wait before implementing any new policies.
