A body was found under the bridge in the area of Grantley Road and West College Avenue in York City on Sunday. The York County Coroner s Office was dispatched to the scene around 5:30 p.m. after receiving a report of a dead body. Deputy Coroner Karen Frank responded and certified the death. The deceased is Ben Saidi, 59, who had reportedly been living under the bridge for the past few months. It is believed that he also spent some time at the Rescue Mission.

Update, 4/18, 11:22 p.m.: The York County Coroner s Office has identified the victim of the Sunday evening crash as Patrick Clafferty, 26.  According to a release from the office, Clafferty was travelling northbound on I-83 when he lost control of his motorcycle. He reportedly hopped off, causing him to strike the median before coming to rest on the roadway. No other vehicles were involved in the initial crash, but a second crash involving two SUVs and two tractor trailers happened seconds later. Clafferty was struck as a result. He became stuck under one of the SUVs, causing him to die at the scene.

Patrick Clafferty, 26, of the 700 block of Laura Lane, was driving his motorcycle north on I-83 past Exit 14, Leader Heights, just after 4 p.m, Sunday when he lost control of the motorcycle and fell off it, according to a report from the coroner s office. Clafferty hit the median and came to rest in the roadway, the report said. A second crash occurred involving two tractor-trailers and two SUVs occurred within seconds, and Clafferty was struck while lying on the roadway, the coroner said.

Coroner identifies woman who died in Sunday crash in Windsor Township An 85-year-old York Township woman was killed in a crash Sunday morning in Windsor Township. Joyce Seitz, of the 1200 block of Golden Way, was pronounced dead at 11:33 a.m. from multiple blunt force injuries at the scene of the crash, according to a news release from the York County Coroner s Office. The crash happened about 11:08 a.m. Sunday in Windsor Township, at Kendale and Lombard roads, according to the coroner s office. Seitz, who was a passenger and wasn t wearing a seat belt, was killed when the vehicle she was in failed to stop at a stop sign and hit another car, according to the release.
