ALBANY If the coronavirus pandemic had taken place when her children were in elementary school, County Health Commissioner Dr. Elizabeth Whalen would likely not have been able to do the job she’s doing today.
“It’s not lost on me when we talk about the populations that have been affected by the pandemic, that women have been affected in a way that is disproportionate to the effect on men,” she said during a COVID-19 briefing Monday morning, marking International Women’s Day.
