Many individuals and communities are using a variety of initiatives to reduce their carbon footprints. York EcoHOMES, for example, encourages residents to commit to reducing their greenhouse gas emissions and has now enrolled more than 400 households. In recent months, EcoHOMES has helped York residents switch to community solar electric power, obtain free LED light bulbs, and determine the best method to compost household food waste.

The most recent EcoHOMES action, composting, is an excellent way to reduce both your carbon footprint and your waste footprint. The two are very much related.
A few months into the pandemic, I joined a small group of friends who wanted to explore the connection between nature and our spirituality. We met on Zoom once a week, read books together and let the conversation wander wherever it would. One week a friend mentioned Nature’s Best Hope, by Douglas W.
