Habitat for Humanity 7 Rivers Maine’s 28
th Annual Spring Walk to Build will kick off Sunday, May 2, 1 p.m. at the Dipper Cove Clubhouse in Orr’s Island, and conclude June 30, with several small COVID safe walk events scheduled in between.
Habitat is asking folks to choose a date anytime between May 2 and June 30 and pick a location where they can still practice safe social distancing. Hundreds of local walk participants and area business sponsors are expected to raise over $60,000 for affordable housing by June 30. Registrations, donations, and sponsorships will be accepted until June 30 at: www.habitat7rivers.org
Humane Society of Lawton to hold annual Spring Garage Sale

LAWTON, Okla. (TNN) - The Humane Society of Lawton will be holding their annual Spring Garage Sale over the weekend.
The sale will be held Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day and will take place at the Unitarian Universalist Church at 816 W Gore Blvd.

Jane T. Staehle died April 23. She was 82.
Staehle was born Margaret Jane Tener on April 3, 1939, in Columbus, Ohio, to Eva and Carlton Glen Tener. Her only sibling was a sister, Gladys Elizabeth (Betty) Tener (later Betty T. Welsbacher), 14 years her senior. She received her Bachelor of Arts in speech pathology and her Master of Arts in English, both from Ohio State University, and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. In college, she met George Staehle, they married in 1960 and, in 1964, moved to Livermore. Their daughter, Carolyn, was born Dec. 24, 1968.
After her marriage ended in divorce, Staehle rejoined the workforce in 1976 and started her career in the technical information department at Lawrence Livermore Laboratory, where she worked as a technical information specialist until her retirement in 1999. While at the Lab, she was widely admired for her managerial skills as well as her work editing various publications and papers written by the lab scientists for technical journals.
Jane T. Staehle, 82, died peacefully in her sleep on April 23, 2021, following a series of illnesses.
She had been moved to hospice at home and was surrounded by loved ones at the time of her death. Staehle, who lived in Livermore most of her adult life, was an active force in many communities. She was beloved by a large network of friends and colleagues whose lives she influenced and touched through these activities. She will perhaps be best remembered for her wry and adept wit, her generosity of spirit, and her deep and practical kindness.
