Yuma, Arizona - The Yuma County Library District (YCLD), in collaboration with Pecan Shadow Apartments, Yuma County Court House, Yuma County Housing Office, and Yuma International Airport, is pleased to present Pop Up Libraries, mobile hotspots that allow users to access YCLD’s e-book collection.
This project was supported with funds granted by the Arizona State Library, Archives and Public Records, a division of the Arizona Secretary of State, under the Library Services and Technology Act, which is administered by the Institute of Museum and Library Services. With help from local agencies, YCLD was able to place pop up libraries in several high-traffic locations where people may be waiting for indeterminate times. Dial-a-Story Storytime is just a phone call away! “Dial-a-Story featuring pre-recorded stories for children of all ages in English and Spanish, is now available at the Yuma County Library District. Call YCLD’s Dial-a-Story line at (928) 597-3131. New stories are available each week! There is no charge for this service.. This project is supported by the Arizona State Library, Archives and Public Records, a division of the Secretary of State, with federal CARES Act funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.

TUCSON, Ariz. (KOLD News 13) - The Arizona State Library, Archives and Public Records is awarding 18 tribal and public libraries across the state CARES Act funding.
The funding works to “prevent, prepare for, and respond to coronavirus, including to expand digital network access, purchase internet accessible devices, and provide technical support services.”
According to a news release, the libraries will receive LibraryCall, a new phone service that lets everyone in their community even those without smartphones, computers or home internet have access to stories, events and/or library resources.
