Arizona State Library, Archives and Public Records awards tribal and public libraries CARES Act funding
PHOENIX (KVOA) – The Arizona State Library, Archives and Public Records, a division of the Secretary of State, awarded 18 tribal and public libraries CARES Act funding, made possible by the Institute of Museum and Library Services, the Secretary of State’s Office announced in a news release Tuesday.
CARES Act funding from IMLS is intended to help “prevent, prepare for, and respond to coronavirus, including to expand digital network access, purchase internet accessible devices, and provide technical support services.” Libraries participating in the CARES Act Calling opportunity will receive LibraryCall, a new phone service that lets everyone in their community even those without smartphones, computers or home internet have access to stories, events and/or library resources.

Yuma, Arizona - On February 24th, 2021, the Heritage Library will turn 100 years old, and the Yuma County Library District will celebrate 100 years of public library service! Over a century, the Library District has grown from a modest, one-room Carnegie Library to include a Main Library and seven branches.
In commemoration, the Library District is pleased to present a Centennial webpage, https://www.yumalibrary.org/100years. The webpage includes a narrative history, timeline, and historic photos for a look back through the decades. Local businesses to receive extension to Paycheck Protection Program

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Now that President Trump has signed the COVID-19 relief bill into law, small businesses across the U.S. are set to receive hundreds of billions of dollars in forgivable loans through an extension to the Paycheck Protection Program.
In Yuma County, many businesses have been hit hard by the pandemic, including Sweet Doce Brazil, a local bakery located inside the Yuma County Library District. The owner, Regiane Johnson, has owned her business for five years. The library closed to the public a couple months ago, and along with it, so too did the bakery.
