11 Iranian Migrants Arrested for Illegally Crossing Border into Arizona

Yuma Sector Border Patrol agents arrested a group of Iranian migrants who illegally crossed the border from Mexico into Arizona on Monday. Agents identified the group of Special Interest Aliens as six males and five females.
Yuma Station agents patrolling the border near San Luis, Arizona on Monday evening encountered a group of migrants who illegally entered the U.S. from Mexico near the Salinity Canal. The agents identified the group of 11 migrants as Iranian citizens, according to information obtained from Yuma Sector Border Patrol officials.

Border Patrol Agents Arrest 11 Iranians in Arizona Who Illegally Entered US
The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) said its agents arrested a group of 11 Iranians who illegally entered the United States.
According to a news release from the agency, agents saw the group near San Luis, Arizona, on a bridge.
Border Patrol agents then “determined the group had illegally crossed the international border into the United States. The group was arrested and taken to Yuma Station for processing,” according to the release. “The five females and six males are were [sic] all from Iran, a Special Interest Country.”
Migrants from Bangladesh, Uzbekistan Increasingly Found in Arizona, Say Feds

Yuma Sector Border Patrol officials report an increase in the number of illegal border crossers from Bangladesh and Uzbekistan. These Asian migrants reportedly come to the U.S. seeking asylum from persecution, officials stated.
“Although the majority of illegal border crossers caught within Yuma Sector’s area of operations come from Mexico and from Central American countries such as El Salvador and Guatemala, Border Patrol agents have recently seen an uptick in crossers originating from the countries of Bangladesh and Uzbekistan,” Yuma Sector officials said in a written statement.

TUCSON, Ariz. (KOLD News 13) - Yuma Border Patrol agents arrested a Mexican national after he was seen climbing the border fence near the Andrade Port of Entry with a machete in his hand on Monday, Jan. 11.
According to a news release, around 5:20 a.m., the man was captured on video surveillance lingering on the south side of the vehicle fence near the port of entry. He continued to be monitored as he climbed the fence into the United States, all while holding a machete in his hand.

TUCSON, Ariz. (KOLD News 13) - A man who entered the country illegally is now facing charges after Yuma Sector Border Patrol agents apprehended him on Wednesday, Jan. 13.
According to a news release, agents arrested a registered sex offender who was one of three Mexican nationals taken into custody by Yuma agents.
