Israel’s targeting of economic facilities in Gaza signals disastrous consequences

Geneva - The Israeli army has targeted and destroyed many economic and commercial facilities in the Gaza Strip during its ongoing attacks for the 10th day running, Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor said today in statement.
The Israeli air strikes have destroyed or damaged more than 525 economic establishments, including 50 factories during its current attack on the Gaza Strip, according to initial reports.
Negative repercussions directly inflicted Gaza’s economic sector due to the bombardment and destruction of facilities, which led to other indirect effects because of closures caused by continued Israeli attacks.
Morocco carries out campaigns of mass arrest, forcible displacement of African migrants

Geneva – The Moroccan authorities have arrested and forcibly displaced dozens of migrants in El-Ayoun city, southern Morocco, Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor said today in statement. The authorities must respect their international obligations regarding migrants’ rights and human dignity.
The Moroccan police arrested dozens of migrants including, pregnant women and children, arriving from Sub-Saharan Africa on May 7. They transferred them to the city of Tan-Tan in northern Morocco as part of their campaign to arrest and forcibly displace them.
The police carried out the arrests without judicial orders or oversight and released the detainees in a remote area, leaving them with no food or water.
Many Gazans cut off from the world as Israel targets communications and internet networks

Geneva – The Israeli forces targeting of the Internet and communications networks in the Gaza Strip as part of their continuous military attack for the ninth day is utterly worrying, Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor said today in a statement.
Israeli s violent bombings have severely damaged or destroyed networks, equipment and devices crucial for many communication and Internet companies, which used to operate in buildings that were unjustifiably targeted.
The attacks also targeted dozens of streets damaging utility poles which carry wires that provided Internet and communication services.
Unparalleled growth in attacks and violence against Arabs in Israel

Geneva – Violence against Arabs in Israel has been on the rise recently as the police have repeatedly abused and overlooked abuses against the minority during the past few days, Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor said today in a statement, expressing serious concern.
Last week, Israeli towns and cities witnessed violence against Arabs who demonstrated and expressed their anger over the attacks committed by the Israeli police and citizens on worshipers and solidarity activists in the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood in Jerusalem.
On May 10, the city of Lod witnessed indiscriminate shootings by armed Jewish groups on one of the demonstrations in the city, resulting in the death of Arab citizen, Musa Hassouna and the wounding of others.
