Yosemite National Park reopens with reservation system
For the first week of February, visitors can show up at the park without a reservation.
Between Feb. 8 and through the end of the month, however, visitors will need a reservation to visit Yosemite. The National Park Service said the requirement is necessary to continue controlling crowd sizes in the park during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Reservations for February go online Monday at 8 a.m.
The park service announced it would release 80% of the February reservations on Monday with the remaining 20% released day by day, 48 hours ahead of the date.
Anyone with a reservation at lodging or campgrounds inside the park is automatically granted a reservation.

Yosemite, CA – In just over a weeks’ time, visitors to Yosemite National Park will need a day-use reservation to enter the park.
In a press release, Park officials stated, “The temporary day-use reservation system will allow the park to manage visitation levels to reduce risks associated with exposure to COVID-19.”
Beginning Monday, Feb. 8th, day-use reservations will be required for all users, including annual and senior pass holders. Park officials detail that it is valid for seven days and must be validated on the first day of the reservation. Additionally, each reservation is for one vehicle and the occupants of that vehicle. Day-use reservations are included for those staying inside the park, at the Ahwahnee Hotel, Yosemite Valley
Yosemite National Park, to reopen Monday after extensive winter storm damage, will again require visitors, even those only passing through for the day, to make reservations in advance,
The park will start taking day-trip reservations at 8 a.m. Monday at recreation.gov for visits between Feb. 8 and
