Nearly every fire station in Yonkers responded to the fire that started at 99 Maple St. at around 4 p.m. Tenants had little time to escape their homes. “I grabbed the dogs, got the kids and we just got out of there,” one resident says. There is no official word on what caused the fire, neighbors say it could have started with stored furniture on a back patio behind one of the buildings.
