Campaign group urge Romford Dogs to rethink racing in heat

Romford Dogs on reopening on May 17 for spectators

What can I do in Romford when lockdown eases on May 17?

The manager, who has worked in pubs for 38 years, stressed many regulars are elderly and live alone, so they rely on the pub for socialising and to be in contact with people.  “I’ve got people who come in as soon as we open, plonk themselves down at a table and spend the day calling across to each other,” she said.  She added: “Unfortunately, there’s a lot of people we won’t see when we open because we lost them along the way.”  Tina urged people to book their tables in advance and to drink responsibly.  The Bull will be open from 11am to 10.30pm during the week, and 11pm at weekends.

The Bajan Reporter | Greyhound racing: A look at Patrick Janssens fantastic 2020

by Bajan Reporter / January 26th, 2021 Patrick Janssens’ obsession with Greyhounds stems back to when he was just a young boy growing up in Belgium. His father raced pigeons, but he took more of a liking to the dogs and from just the age of 10 he was a regular at tracks throughout Belgium and nearby Amsterdam. By his teenage years, he had already trained a runner-up in the Belgium Championships. He then spent many years working in kennels across Ireland and England, and it wasn’t until 2014 that he split away to form his own kennels, which he set up with his wife. Janssens has enjoyed his fair share of success in the last seven years or so, but 2020 was without doubt his best year to date as trainer.
