Former England full-back Mike Brown s Harlequins career is over after his appeal against a six-week ban for stamping was unsuccessful.
Brown was sent off for standing on the head of Wasps hooker Tommy Taylor at Twickenham Stoop on May 9, resulting in a suspension that rules him out of the rest of Quins season.
An independent disciplinary panel on Wednesday dismissed his attempt to have the sanction reduced, meaning the Newcastle-bound 35-year-old, who has 72 England caps, has played his last game for the club he first represented in 2005.

Mike Brown is to appeal against the six-match ban for stamping that threatens to bring his Harlequins career to an abrupt end, it was announced Thursday.
The former England full-back was sent off for the first time in his career after treading on the head of Wasps hooker Tommy Taylor during Harlequins 48-46 Premiership victory at Twickenham Stoop on May 9.
As a result of his previous spotless disciplinary record, the panel halved the length of the ban from 12 weeks to six, but that would still mean he would be barred from the Premiership final if Quins make it all the way through.

ENGLAND ASSISTANT COACHES Simon Amor and Jason Ryles are stepping down from their roles in Eddie Jones’ management team.
Jones will begin the search for a new man to oversee the attack after Amor and the Rugby Football Union “mutually decided” to part company, while Australian skills coach Ryles has stepped down because of the challenges created by the pandemic.
