Mr Kumar of Sakoca, Tacirua, was remanded in custody by magistrate Peni Dalituicama. He was charged with one count each of unlawful possession of controlled equipment, failure to comply with orders, failure to obey traffic direction and dangerous driving. He was driving a ministerial government vehicle last Thursday night and failed to stop at the Martintar checkpoint, Nadi and was later arrested at the Hotel Capricorn by police.
