New Jersey’s decision to allow indoor dining to continue operating was heralded last week by a restaurant industry that has been decimated from months of economic hardship.
But if the coronavirus continues to explode across the state in the coming weeks, that celebration could prove to be temporary, two public health experts said Saturday.
Lewis Nelson, the chair of the department of emergency medicine at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, said he’s hopeful restaurants will remain open through the winter for indoor dining, though he believes “probably we will see things close, restaurants close” at some point.
