Rutherford County, TN Rutherford County Fire Rescue crews saved two small dogs stuck in a sinkhole on Yeargan Road around noon on Saturday.
The sinkhole was around eight feet deep with a 16’ opening. The dogs were in 12 inches of water where the hole opened below the surface.
Firefighters were able to pull one of the dogs up and out using a rope snare, allowing the owners to immediately begin warming it up. The second dog was not able to be rescued this way, so firefighters had to do some quick thinking.

Rutherford County, TN Rutherford County Fire Rescue (RCFR), Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services (RCEMS), Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office (RCSO), and Christiana Volunteer Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire in a duplex on Cedar Street just before 1:30 Monday afternoon.
Crews arrived to the structure, located near Joe B Jackson Parkway, to find fire and smoke coming from the roof on one side of the duplex.
Due to rapid response times from the first due engine, the fire was contained quickly and minimal damage occurred to the unit. No injuries were reported.

Outbuilding Fire on Thompson Rd.
Around 10:00 o clock Saturday night, firefighters responded to a large structure fire on Thompson Road. That s off Salem Pike in the Rockvale Community.
When crews arrived, they discovered a large barn with heavy fire involvement. Crews extinguished the fire and fortunately no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

(SMYRNA TN) Rutherford County Fire Rescue and Stormpoint Drone Team were requested to assist in the Saturday (1/30/2021) evening search efforts for a missing 15-year old juvenile near Wade Herrod Road, in the Smyrna area.
Rutherford County Fire Rescue Chief Larry Farley told NewsRadio WGNS . . .
The team responded to the location and immediately launched a drone with FLIR technology, allowing them to detect heat signatures on the ground level.
The cold temperatures actually aided in the search and crews were able to track the juvenile with the thermal imaging technology in about 13 minutes.
