PALAKKAD: The Golden Crow Pheasant for the best film was awarded to South African film This is not a burial, it’s a resurrection directed by Lemohang Jeremiah Moses as the curtains came down on the 25th International Film Festival of Kerala on Friday. It was conducted in four venues Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam, Thalassery and Palakkad.The award for the best film as decided by the audience went to Churuli directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery.

AAA The silver jubilee edition of the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) will conclude here on Friday evening. Filmmaker Adoor Gopalakrishnan will be the chief guest at the closing ceremony.
Kerala Chalachitra Academy chairperson Kamal will preside. Vice chairperson Bina Paul, executive members Sibi Malayil, V.K. Joseph, and secretary Ajoy Chandran will be present.
Seventeen films will be screened in four theatres on the final day of the festival. They include the award-winning films at Satya Movie House and Priya Theatre, which will host the closing ceremony.

Though pan-Indian projects seem to be the fad among all film industries in the country now, doing remakes are still prevalent. Bollywood films being remade in south industries and vice-versa, apart from the four south industries doing remakes of each other have always had acceptance among audience. Kollywood had its first remake this year in January – Sibiraj-starrer Kabadadaari was the remake of Kannada movie Kavaludaari which released in 2019.
