Special Assistant to CM discusses RUDA project

Islamabad : Special Assistant to Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan called on Chairman Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) Rashid Aziz, says a press release.
On the occasion, RUDA Chairman briefed Special Assistant to CM about the details of the project.
The Ravi Urban project will cost Rs50 billion and work has already started on the first phase at a cost of Rs5 billion. The complete project covers 120,000 acres and the first phase will cover 2,900 acres. He further briefed Special Assistant to Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan regarding the project and said that this project is a regular organised project. It will highlight the natural environment.
Universal health programme approved

Punjab cabinet has approved a universal health coverage programme to offer health insurance to entire population of the province by December 2021, besides winding up of anti-terrorism courts (ATCs) in Sargodha and Rawalpindi.
Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar chaired the 40th meeting of the provincial cabinet held on Monday.
The cabinet also constituted a ministerial committee to ensure implementation of the universal health insurance programme in a timely manner.
Moreover, the cabinet also approved establishment of Thal University in Bhakkar to bring the underdeveloped region on par with developed cities.
Official sources said it also gave in-principle approval of amendments to the Evacuee Trust Properties and Displaced Persons Laws (Repeal) Act, 1975.

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has said the government was compelled to pass on the impact of oil prices to consumers to avert additional debt burden on the country.
Speaking to a private television channel during his visit to North Waziristan on Wednesday, which was aired on Friday night, Prime Minister Khan said the country could not afford more loans to keep petroleum prices at the minimum benchmark.
He said devaluation of rupee had impacted prices of petroleum products, pulses, ghee and other imported items, which gave rise to inflation.
Ravi Riverfront Project Attracts $8 Billion in Foreign Investments
The Ravi Riverfront Urban Development Project (RUDP) has attracted foreign investments of over $8 billion to develop the world’s largest riverfront modern city similar to Dubai.
A member of the Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA), Iftikhar Ali Malik, revealed this following a meeting with a delegation of builders and developers that was jointly chaired by Zain Zubair Khalid Mirza and Shehroz Hassan on Sunday.

LAHORE: The government has imposed section 5 under the Land Acquisition Act-1894, notifying chunks of land required on a priority basis for the Ravi Riverfront Urban Development Project within revenue limits of Lahore city district. The land identified and notified [measuring over 2,562 kanal] is situated in seven mauzas.
According to a notification signed jointly by the Lahore commissioner, district collector, additional deputy commissioner (revenue), Ravi Urban Development Authority chairman and RUDA land acquisition collectors-1 and 2, the priority land, which has been identified to be acquired included 117 kanal and 8 marla (Mauza Harnaralnpura), seven kanal and 11 marla (Jia Musa), 300 kanal and 13 marla (Bhamma), 300 kanal (Targarh), 37 kanal and 17 marla (Shahdara), 1,226 kanal (Hardo Jabo) and 573 kanal and 3 marla (Karolwar), totaling 2,562 kanal and 12 marl
