At the end of a long and successful public ministry, and as he struggled with the cancer that would eventually take his life, accusations of sexual misconduct against Ravi Zacharias started surfacing. After his death last May, his ministry hired an outside firm to investigate the claims. To the Christian world s dismay, it found many of the allegations to be true.

Ravi Zacharias International Ministries announced that it would be cutting 60% of its staff and reorganizing after reports of sexual misconduct from its late namesake came to light.
Ravi Zacharias International Ministries CEO Sarah Davis, who is Zacharias’s oldest daughter, announced the ministry’s change in direction Wednesday and said that the institution would stop fundraising efforts and shift the organization toward grant-making.
The grants will be focused on Ravi Zacharias International Ministries’ mission of preaching and on sexual abuse prevention, according to the
Associated Press.
“RZIM cannot indeed should not continue to operate as an organization in its present form,” Davis said. “Nor do we believe we can merely rename the organization and move forward with ‘business as usual.’”

After weeks of internal turmoil, the apologetics organization Ravi Zacharias International Ministries (RZIM) will essentially dissolve in its present form, CEO Sarah Davis told employees on Wednesday. An independent investigation released in February revealed extensive reports of abuse and sexual misconduct by founder Ravi Zacharias, who died last year at age 74.
“RZIM cannot indeed should not continue to operate as an organization in its present form. Nor do we believe we can merely rename the organization and move forward with business as usual,” said Davis, Zacharias’ daughter, in a statement to the global ministry’s staff.
Ravi Zacharias International Ministries is restructuring and will soon become a grant-making organization supporting evangelism and abuse victims as it plans to lay off the majority of its staff, its leadership has announced.
