In March this year, Lamborghini announced that driver and racer Andrey Leontyev had taken the Urus for several drives on the Lake Baikal in Siberia, setting two new world records in the process. The Urus was the fastest SUV on ice, but it had also achieved the highest speed over a distance of 1 km (0.62 miles) from a standing start.

The Lamborghini Urus SUV has set a new high speed record on ice, the car has set a new 1000 metre record at an average speed of 114 km/h.
The record was set at Lake Baikal and you can see the record take place in the video below, the car reached a top speed of 298 km/h.
The Super SUV Lamborghini Urus’ high-speed record set on the ice of Russia’s Lake Baikal during the Days of Speed in March 2021 has been formally registered by the RAF (Russian Automobile Federation), a member of the FIA (Federation Internationale de l’Automobile). Russian driver Andrey Leontyev, 18-time record holder of Days of Speed on Baikal Ice, shares his experience of setting the record. Reaching a top speed of 298 km/h and an average speed from a standing start of 114 km/h across the 1000-meter distance, the Lamborghini Urus demonstrated exceptional performance and extraordinary handling despite reduced traction due to the ice’s slippery conditions and strong gusts of wind.

Last March, the Lamborghini Urus set a new top speed record at the Days of Speed event on top of frozen Lake Baikal. The Lambo Urus set the 1,000-meter record by garnering a top speed of 185.17 mph (298 km/h) and an average speed from a standing start of 70.84 mph (114 km/h), highly impressive given the icy and slippery track conditions.
Piloted by Russian racing driver and 18-time record-holder Andrey Leontyev, the Lamborghini Urus was nothing short of exceptional despite the frigid weather and strong wind gusts. “The Urus’ biggest advantage is its absolute versatility: it is extremely easy and comfortable to operate in any situation while feeling you’re a strong unit with it,” said Leontyev. “Despite its significant power, supercar roots, and supercar behavior, the Urus is forgiving and obliges the pilot.”
