2 drivers injured in separate shootings in Rockford
ROCKFORD Two people were injured in separate shootings hours apart Friday night while driving on city streets, according to the Rockford Police Department.
A 27-year-old man was shot in the leg around 9 p.m. while driving near Auburn Street and Ridge Avenue. He was treated at a local hospital and released, police said Monday in a news release.
About 2½ hours later, a 21-year-old man was shot in the upper torso while driving in the area of North Rockton Avenue and Whitman Street. He remains hospitalized, police said Monday.
No arrests have been made in either shooting.
