ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, N.C. A man wanted in a deadly highway shooting in Rockingham County was captured just outside of Louisville, Kentucky on Tuesday afternoon.
The Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office said Martin Calvin Cox Jr., of Browns Summit, was arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the shooting of two motorcyclists.

ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, N.C. Several people were shot in Rockingham County Monday.
The Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office said three people were found shot around 5 p.m. in the area of Barnes Street overpass at Highway 29.
Rockingham County Sheriff Sam Page said two people died and another person was wounded in the shooting. The injured person was taken to a hospital but their condition is unknown.

ROCKINGHAM Co., N.C. â Around 4:45 p.m. yesterday evening, the Rockingham County Sheriff s Office began receiving reports of two individuals laying along the roadway of U.S. 29 Bypass in the northbound lane between the Barnes St. and N.C. 14 intersections.
A third individual was located shortly after Sheriff s Deputies and other first responders began arriving on scene.
All three of these individuals appeared to have suffered apparent gunshot wounds while traveling northbound on U.S. 29 Bypass on two motorcycles. Two of the three victims are deceased.
Victim information is not being released at this time, pending family notifications.
The northbound lane of highway U.S. 29 was closed last night for investigative purposes. Northbound traffic toward Danville was detoured though that area.
