The Rockland County Department of Health (RCDOH) has announced that first dose appointments are available for the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine on Wednesday, April 14, 2021, and Thursday, April 15, 2021. If you are 18 and older and live, work or attend school in New York State, visit COVID-19 webpage (http://rcklnd.us/
covid19) to schedule your appointment.
Eligible residents that do not have access to a computer or need assistance in scheduling their appointment are encouraged to call the Rockland County COVID Call Center at 845-238-1956 from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm Monday – Friday (except holidays).
In order to complete this vaccination series, you must be available to return for your 2nd immunization on Wednesday, May 12, 2021, or Thursday, May 13, 2021.
Counties adjust vaccine appointments following Johnson & Johnson news

Hudson Valley counties are modifying vaccine appointments due to the statewide pause on the use of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
The Putnam County Department of Health canceled all appointments for that vaccine today at the county’s vaccination site.
The county says all individuals will be offered the Moderna vaccine instead.

In Rockland County, officials say their Department of Health has not received Johnson & Johnson since Week 14, which was March 15 to 21, so there are not any Johnson & Johnson vaccination appointments currently scheduled at the Pomona clinic.

Rockland is getting more COVID-19 vaccines this week than anticipated, and considerably more than it has since the state started provided local health departments with vaccinations in January.
The county’s Department of Health was informed Monday that it would receive 1,200 Moderna vaccine doses from the Week 12 distribution.
Now the county expects 2,920 total vaccine doses this week.
3 kinds of vaccines, different uses
The state on Monday included 500 additional Moderna vaccinations, bringing the total Moderna allocation to 1,700.
The county is required to use 700 for essential workers, 500 for people with comorbidities and 500 for people age 65-plus.
The state determines how local health departments administer the vaccines. All doses listed are to be used for first doses of the two-dose Moderna cycle. Second doses, which are already reserved, are sent in a separate distribution.
