Exciting $1 35m drive-through coffee shop approved

Premium Content Subscriber only Cocobrew Express, Rockhampton s first architecturally designed drive-through coffee shop, has been approved to be built on a main highway corner site. The $1.35m development will be located on the corner of George and Albert St, across from Browne Park. It is a project of well-known Rockhampton developer John Kele of Kele Property Group. The leasees of Cocobrew, which KPG developed in 2019, will operate the site. The site, 40-44 Albert St, currently has three dilapidated houses which will be removed for the development. Police charge woman over Depot Hill assault at Rockhampton

Heavily pregnant woman among 11 in serious crash

Premium Content Subscriber only UPDATE NOON: A pregnant woman is one of the 11 people involved in a two vehicle crash north of Rockhampton this morning. RACQ Capricorn Rescue Helicopter attended the scene and reported two vehicles side swiped each other on the Bruce Highway early this morning. The rescue service stated a heavily pregnant woman was one of eight people in the vehicle travelling north and she was transported to hospital by road ambulance as a precautionary measure. Two teenagers aged 15 and 17 in the vehicle heading south bound were assessed for any possible injuries at the scene, however, were found to be unharmed. The driver of the vehicle was transported to Rockhampton Base Hospital by the RACQ Capricorn Rescue helicopter in a stable condition.

Man airlifted to hospital after fall from horse

Premium Content Subscriber only A man in his 50s has been airlifted to Rockhampton Hospital after he fell from his horse while mustering cattle at Gindoran, west of Lowmead. The RACQ Capricorn Helicopter Rescue Service was alerted to the incident by Queensland Health about 8.33pm on Saturday. Rescue 300 conducted a low reconnaissance of the area and found a suitable landing site near to the patient, a RACQ Capricorn Helicopter Rescue spokeswoman said. The patient was initially treated by Queensland Ambulance Service for a suspected broken shoulder and spinal injuries. Once on scene, the on-board flight doctor and critical care paramedic further assessed and stabilised the patient prior to being loaded onto the helicopter for the flight to Rockhampton Base Hospital.
