Fleur Anderson wants thousands of Australians opting for a tree change to know they do not have to choose between their professional aspirations and a regional lifestyle.
Ms Anderson is the director of statewide coordination for the Office for Rural and Regional Queensland, and has managed a team remotely from her cotton farm in central Queensland for 12 months.

A warehouse to sell rural and agricultural supplies employing up to 10 staff members has been proposed for Gracemere.
The development application was lodged for 46 Macquarie Street, Gracemere, for Australian Independent Rural Retailers.
The company is Australian owned and operated by independent retailers with more 250 retailers across Australia.
It sells a range of animal health, crop and pasture protection, livestock, fencing, farm management, water, pet, equine and poultry products as the one-stop shop for farmers, growers, producers and pet owners.
The subject site is on a corner block with a total area of 13570 sqm and currently contains a few demountable buildings.

Six potential long-term solutions to the Mount Morgan water crisis were floated at a public community forum, with some options proving to be more well-received by residents than others.
Rockhampton Regional Council held a community meeting at the School of Arts Hall on April 13 to discuss the current and future water situation for the drought-stricken town, with close to 150 attendees.
This comes after Queensland Health restrictions prevented a meeting going ahead in March.
Fitzroy River Water manager Jason Plumb said water trucks would deliver drinking water to Mount Morgan seven days a week, and while only nine water trucks were delivered the day before, it would be ramped up to the previously announced 20 trucks in the coming days.

Frustrated Mount Morgan residents want a long-term solution to their dwindling town water supply in central Queensland, as carting water is costing them $70,000 a week.

About 140 residents attended a community meeting on Tuesday night to vent their concerns about the quality of the dam water, and offer feedback on six long-term options proposed by Rockhampton Regional Council.
Approvals are underway for a $70 million maintenance hangar to be built at Rockhampton Airport by Alliance Airlines, creating 225 jobs. Maintenance work on Alliance s aircraft is currently carried out in Europe and Singapore but now, the company intends to bring those services back to Australia and has chosen Rockhampton as the perfect location. Alliance expects to employ 125 staff for the new maintenance and repair hangar, which is also expected to generate a further 100 additional jobs in the region while injecting $30 million into the local economy. The build will be undertaken by Ahrens and is expected to take nine months and support a further 100 construction jobs.
