Petrol price crosses Rs 110 mark in Rajasthan
Petrol prices breached the Rs 110 mark per litre in Rajasthan as fuel rate on Sunday surged by 36 paise per litre.

As the jump in fuel prices in Rajasthan continues unabated, petrol prices on Sunday crossed Rs 110 per litre mark in Rajasthan.
A jump of 36 paise per litre in petrol and 27 paise per litre in diesel was witnessed in Sri Ganganagar district of Rajasthan on Sunday.
State has one of the highest VAT rates on fuel among the big States
Following the continuous increase in the fuel rates for the last several days, the price of petrol on Wednesday crossed the ₹100-per litre mark (₹100.13) in Rajasthan’s Sriganganagar district where the diesel price now is ₹92.13.
Rajasthan has one of the highest VAT rates on fuel among the big States despite the State government reducing it on both fuels by 2% last month.
The petrol rate touched the record high apparently because of transportation cost as the fuel is supplied to Sriganganagar, situated in northern Rajasthan, from Jodhpur and Jaipur depots.
Petrol has jumped to Rs 96 per litre in Mumbai after oil companies hiked the price by 25 paise on Wednesday. The cost of 1 litre diesel touched Rs 86.98 per litre.

Petrol price breached Rs 100 mark in Rajasthan s Ganganagar district and Madhya Pradesh s Nagarabandh on Wednesday as fuel rates hiked for the ninth consecutive day. According to Indian Oil Corporation data, the retail price of non-premium petrol at Ganganagar touched Rs 100.13 per litre on February 17. Diesel price at Ganganagar is at Rs 92.13 per litre. Current petrol price in MP s Nagarabandh is Rs 100.40 per litre, as per IOCL data. Whereas, the diesel is priced at Rs 90.81 per litre.
While branded or additive-laced petrol, which attracts higher taxes, had crossed the Rs 100-mark in some places in states like Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, this is the first time that regular petrol crossed the physiological mark. In Sriganganagar town of Rajasthan, petrol price soared to Rs 100.13 a litre on Wednesday.
