Survey for proposed US-56 expressway at Great Bend to begin

GREAT BEND A field survey for building a proposed four-lane expressway from the east side of Great Bend will start around Monday.
The proposed expressway would be from the east city limits of Great Bend (Kiowa Road) to the K-156/K-96 highway junction.
The approximate length of the survey is 2.3 miles, and the survey will be based on the existing alignment.
This project is in the development phase, with no project scheduled at this point.
The survey, to collect information for detailed design of the proposed improvement, is estimated to be completed by May 1.
