Cops ID man killed in 2-vehicle crash on Garden State Parkway Updated Feb 16, 2021; State Police have identified the man killed in Monday’s two-vehicle crash on the Garden State Parkway in Union County as a 46-year-old from East Orange. Christopher Meikle was driving south on the Parkway in Clark at around 2:40 a.m. when his car and an SUV collided, according to State Police. Meikle was was brought to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital-Rahway, where he was pronounced dead. The 43-year-old Irvington man driving the SUV remains hospitalized in serious condition. The cause of the crash, which took place near milepost 136.1, is still under investigation.
