ROBESON COUNTY, N.C. (WMBF) – A Lumberton man was arrested and charged with multiple sexual offenses that happened over a three-year period.
Robeson County deputies took 20-year-old Johnnie Britt into custody last week.
He faces several charges including indecent liberties with a minor, crimes against nature and statutory sex offense of a child under the age of 13.
He is currently in custody at the Robeson County Detention Center under a $1.5 million secured bond.

ROBESON COUNTY, N.C. (WMBF) â The Robeson County Sheriffâs Office had a busy 24 hours.
With the assistance of the U.S. Marshal Service, the sheriffâs office took 43 people into custody during its âOperation Groundhog Day: Shadow Seekerâ in Robeson County and neighboring counties.
Among those arrested were two people who have been charged in a 2018 murder.
Samantha Meszaro, 32, and Aaron Locklear, 34, are charged with first-degree murder in the death of Allen Fields.

ROBESON COUNTY, N.C. (WMBF) - A teenager and a man in Robeson County are now in custody following a drug investigation, according to officials.
Robeson County Sheriff Burnis Wilkins said Sunday that investigators attempted to stop a 2007 Chevrolet Malibu on Saturday as part of an investigation into recent overdoses in the area of Highway 74 and Cabinet Shop Road.
The driver, later identified as a 17-year-old juvenile, refused to stop and led deputies on a pursuit. Wilkins said the teenager drove “erratically” on the intersection of Highway 710 North and Deep Branch Road, almost causing a collision as he was throwing narcotics out of the window.

LUMBERTON, N.C. (WMBF) - A man is in custody after drugs were found in a North Carolina motel earlier this week.
The Robeson County Sheriff’s Office said its Drug Enforcement Division and SWAT teams executed a search warrant at the Econo Lodge on Capuano Road in Lumberton. Deputies said the search led to the seizure of drugs including fentanyl, cocaine and marijuana as well as a firearm and other drug paraphernalia.
