A single-vehicle crash in northern Minnesota claimed the life of a 34-year-old woman.
According to a news release issued by the Cass County Sheriff s Office on Sunday, the crash happened Friday at 11:49 p.m. on 140th Street Northwest in Wilkinson Township.
The 34-year-old driver was ejected from the 2010 Chevrolet Impala when she left the roadway and hit a tree. She died at the scene. Her identity will be released after the Ramsey County Medical Examiner s Office conducts an autopsy.
The Minnesota State Patrol, Cass Lake Fire Department, Leech Lake Ambulance and Leech Lake Tribal Police Department assisted at the scene.

A local woman was killed in a car accident Friday, April 16 in rural Cass Lake.
According to a press release from the Cass County Sheriff’s Office, a vehicle crash was reported at 11:49 p.m. on 140th St. NW in Wilkinson Township.
Deputies and responders arrived to find a 2010 Chevrolet Impala that had left the roadway, striking a tree. An adult female, 34, of Cass Lake was found ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. She was the only occupant of the vehicle.

The St. Paul Police Department is investigating the death of a woman who was found lying on the floor of her apartment.
Police were called to the 400 block of Front Avenue in the North End neighborhood at approximately 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Someone called 911 and asked officers to check on the apartment, according to police spokesman Steve Linders. Police found the woman s body.
No arrests have been made. At this point we have more questions than answers, Linders said. We don t know how she died, we don t know why and we don t know who did it, but we have a great team that s dedicated and committed to finding out and helping us get answers to those questions.
