Charges: Le Center man stabbed father to death, burned down home

A criminal complaint states 25-year-old Hardy Wills-Traxler faces one count of second-degree murder and another count of first-degree arson. The complaint states authorities were called early Sunday morning on the report of a fire in rural Le Sueur County. When first responders arrived, they found a shed engulfed in flames. Deputies spoke with the caller who said that his brother, identified as Bruce Traxler, lives in the portion of the shed with his adult son, identified as Hardy Wills-Traxler. The caller expressed concerns that his brother may be inside of the building.

Jan 19, 2021 Marshall Police have released the name of a man found dead in Marshall on Friday. Although a death investigation is ongoing, no foul play is suspected, Police said Monday. Dorane Pogatchnik, 63, of Marshall was found outdoors on the 500 block of Country Club Drive in Marshall, Police said. Police responded to a call of a possible deceased person around noon on Friday, and responding officers found Pogatchnik deceased at the scene. The incident is under investigation, with assistance from the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, the Lyon County Coroner and the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office. Reporter MARSHALL  The death of a man found outside Friday afternoon in Marshall is under investigation, Marshall Police said. Police responded to a report of a possible deceased person on the 500 block of Country Club Drive around noon on Friday. Responding officers found a deceased 63-year-old Marshall man at the scene. The man’s identity is being withheld until family members have been notified, Police said. The death is currently under investigation by Marshall Police, with assistance from the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, the Lyon County coroner and the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office. While the man’s death is under investigation, there was not a risk to the public in connection with the incident, said Marshall Director of Public Safety Jim Marshall.
