AR-15 with 30-round magazine stolen from DNR vehicle outside Twin Cities hotel
The officer’s service rifle had been locked and secured in the vehicle, according to Operation Safety Net.

ST. PAUL A Minnesota Department of Natural Resources conservation officer’s service rifle was stolen from a Shoreview hotel parking lot this week, according to law enforcement officials.
Some conservation officers have been working with the Minnesota State Patrol and the National Guard to assist local law enforcement before and after the trial of former Minneapolis officer Derek Chauvin, according to the DNR.

Tuesday morning, Minnesota State Fair Police Chief Paul Paulos wrote an email to State Fair Board members and other officers, telling them he was retiring at the end of the Memorial Day weekend.
Sources told 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS Paulos wanted improved equipment and better officer training and State Fair management decided to go in another direction and seek an outside law enforcement agency to take over public safety at the fair.
There are dozens of law enforcement officers at the fair each day and the vast majority are off-duty officers from other agencies across the state.
Sources told KSTP that administrators at the fair had asked the Minnesota State Patrol, St. Paul Police and the University of Minnesota Police to take over as the fair s contracted law enforcement agency for the fair s 12-day run in late August and early September. However, all three have declined the offer because they do not have enough officers to handle the fair

ST. PAUL, Minn. (FOX 9) - The St. Paul City Council is asking the state’s Peace Officers Standards and Training Board (POST) to evaluate if Ramsey County Sheriff Bob Fletcher’s on-patrol livestreams violate the police code of conduct.
Fletcher’s Live on Patrol Facebook livestreams are taken from his patrol car and often end up on the streets of St. Paul. He started the livestreams in 2020.

Wednesday, the St. Paul City Council approved a resolution recommending the POST Board review the livestreams. The resolution says residents have voiced concerns with St. Paul and Ramsey County staff about the legality of the streams.
