Appointed senior observer for the Assam assembly elections by the Congress high command, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has been camping in the state for close to three weeks now, with intermittent visits to his state capital Raipur. Accompanying Baghel in Assam are half a dozen Congress MLAs from Chhattisgarh and a nearly 700-strong group of Congress leaders at the middle and booth level, who are central to the Congress’ plans to win seats.
