Another thing to look forward to for music fans will be MooseFest which will be a debut music festival taking place at Bellevue, about 40 minutes south of Prince Albert. MooseFest will be on August 7th, doors will open at 6:30 p.m.

Bison installation launches Métis Mentorship Project at Mann Art Gallery

For more see Page 13. The Mann Art Gallery Intergenerational Métis Mentorship Project officially launched Friday with the first installation of a series at the gallery. This is similar to a project last year and sees local artist Leah Dorion mentoring emerging Métis cultural educator and artist Ashley Smith. Dorion and Smith, will create three temporary art projects in outdoor spaces surrounding the Mann Art Gallery and E.A.Rawlinson Centre in July and August. Each installation will be up for several weeks.

Prince Albert Daily Herald Michael Oleksyn/Daily Herald Artist mentor Leah Dorion of Intergenerational Métis Artist Mentorship Project overlooked the painting of a bison for the first art installation at the Mann Art Gallery on Monday. Preparations have begun for the second Intergenerational Métis Artist Mentorship Project at the Mann Art Gallery. On Monday artist Leah Dorion, this year’s mentee Ashley Smith and guest artist and last year’s mentee Danielle Castle began preparations for the first of three art installations which will begin to go up on Friday. The project builds on last year’s project which created five art installations around the city and was a collaboration between Castle and Dorion.
