Police: Teen driver crashes stolen SUV into another car; Child dies at hospital

ATLANTA A teen driver is facing charges after a head-on collision in a reportedly stolen car left a 4-year-old boy dead Wednesday, according to Atlanta Police.
Another person was also hurt in the crash.
According to APD s preliminary investigation, around 4:30 p.m. officers were patrolling the area around Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard and Metropolitan Parkway and were alerted about a stolen Honda Pilot nearby.

Social Change is set to give away food, diapers, and PPE during a social distance drive through in southwest Atlanta.
ATLANTA - They re getting ready for a big day of service on Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard with a drive-through giveaway of 30,000 pounds of food and 10,000 masks, hand sanitizer bottles, and other personal protective gear. Rev. Willie Clyde of Pathway Christian Church said the donations will make a huge difference for families in southwest Atlanta. There s a group of people in this community that still have a need for these services and don t have food, food stamps, and other resources. We also have a lot of homeless in this neighborhood who you often see pushing everything they have in a grocery cart, said Rev. Clyde as he helped set up for the event across the street from his church on Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard.

ATLANTA A man has died after police say he was hit by a car on the Downtown Connector in Atlanta on Saturday evening.
Atlanta Police said that they were called to the area of I-75 and I-85 at Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard around 6:20 p.m. where they found the man who had been hit.
Police said he was not alert, not conscious or breathing when they arrived and was pronounced dead by Grady Emergency Medical Services paramedics who arrived at the scene.
The driver remained on the scene and was working with police when they arrived. The accident investigation unit has also been called to the scene to continue investigating what happened.
