The 1.6-kilometer road was constructed in Barangay Balaring in the municipality of General Mamerto Natividad.
Public Works and Highways Mark Villar said that the new road will boost agricultural production and economic activities in Nueva Ecija.
“It will facilitate easier transport of vegetables, mangoes, and rice from and to nearby markets,” the secretary said.
According to DPWH Nueva Ecija Second District Engineer Ricardo Puno, the farm-to-market road involves concreting of a two-lane road under a P12.9-million fund under the 2020 General Appropriations Act (GAA).
Villar also commended DPWH Nueva Ecija Second District Engineering Office for the “swift completion of the project that started in August 2020 despite the hindrances brought by the pandemic.”
