A Limerick TD is calling for the army to be drafted in to stop people treating the town of Rathkeale like “party central” every Christmas.
Independent TD Richard O Donoghue said a yearly influx of people into the town leads to parties, anti-social behaviour and “bare-knuckle boxing on the streets.”
On
Lunchtime Live this afternoon, he said residents are not able to visit the town during the holidays, as “they can’t get up and down the street and because of anti-social behaviour from people who are not local to Rathkeale.”

A Limerick TD has called for the Defence Forces to assist gardaí in the town of Rathkeale following a number of alleged incidents in the town over the recent festive holidays.
The call, made by Independent TD Richard O’Donoghue, came as gardaí began an investigation into a bare-knuckle fight which occurred in the town last Monday.

THE Deputy Chief Medical Officer last night sought to debunk conspiracy theorists and insisted no shortcuts have been taken to develop the vaccine.
Ronan Glynn released an extensive statement where he insisted while the fact we are on the cusp of making a “significant advance” in this pandemic with the jabs, people must be willing to get it.
