HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WWBT) - According to the Virginia Vaccine Coordinator, there is enough supply available to vaccinate as many people as possible, but the demand is dropping significantly.
More than 30% of the Commonwealth is fully vaccinated, per data released Friday.
However, a drop in registrations has left local health district revising their ways of getting shots into arms.
On Thursday, Richmond & Henrico Health District spokeswoman Cat Long said the supply and demand for a COVID-19 vaccine were starting to even out. It is why on Friday the clinic at the Richmond Raceway opened to walk-ups.

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. The Islamic Center of Henrico off Hillard Road transformed into a COVID-19 vaccination hub on Thursday.
It was the county s first clinic aimed at vaccinating members of the county s Islamic community. It s a very great cause for the community, Shakil Rehman, who got vaccinated Thursday, said. I m feeling good. It s all good. Nothing wrong, lot of doubts and concerns about what could happen but it was very smooth.

On Tuesday, the Centers for Disease Control updated their mask-wearing guidelines indicating that fully vaccinated people donât need to wear a mask outside in small gatherings or when interacting with people from different households. I really do believe that this is telling us that vaccine is the way out of this pandemic, said Dr. Laurie Forlano, Deputy Director of the Office of Epidemiology at VDH
In an interview Tuesday afternoon, Dr. Forlano said the VDH and Governor s office would review the new CDC guidelines to see if any future changes would be needed in Virginia.

RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - Anyone who lives in Richmond or Henrico no longer needs to pre-register for the coronavirus vaccine.
Now, anyone can contact the Richmond-Henrico Health District and schedule an appointment. Just call 804-205-3501.
Appointments can also be booked online at vax.rchd.com.
“We are no longer in the time of long lists and waiting by your phone to get an appointment,” explains Amy Popovich, Nurse Manager at Richmond and Henrico Health Districts. “This is a new era of getting COVID-19 vaccines.”
