19 Year Old Killed In Crash At US 30 And I-71 In Richland County

May 3, 2021 Richland County, Mansfield – The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two vehicle fatal crash on US 30 at mile post 17 near IR 71 in Mifflin Township, Richland County. The crash occurred when a silver 2008 Toyota Corolla 4-door, driven by Tori A. Carman age 19 of Bucyrus, Ohio, failed to maintain assured clear distance ahead and rear-ended a red 2000 Freightliner flat-bed tow truck, driven by Roger W. Poast age 54 of Mount Gilead, Ohio on US-30 near the northbound entrance ramp to IR 71. Carman succumbed to her injuries sustained in the crash at the scene. Poast suffered minor injuries as a result of the crash.

(WOLO) – The South Carolina Highway Patrol says one person is dead after a vehicle hit a tree on Sunday. Authorities say it happened on I-20 East at mile marker 83 around 12:30 a.m. According to investigators, the driver of a 2015 Mercedes Sedan, Karim Fahmy, went off the right side of the road and hit a tree. Troopers say the front-seat passenger died on scene and Fahmy was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. Officials say both were wearing their seat belts.

Richland County Council grants Coroner s Office request for $300K

Updated: 10:26 PM EDT April 21, 2021 RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. The Richland County Coroner says the office has been in an emergency after an increase in overall deaths and other factors that s contributed to financial strain. We are asking for about $302,000 so that the office can continue to operate through the fiscal year ending on June 30th, said Coroner Naida Rutherford. When the Richland County Coroner took office on January 5th, she realized there would be a money shortage. While the office wasn t sure how severe the deficit would be initially, the money the department needed continued to grow because of incoming bills.
