Set it too low, though, and you’ll be switching on your screen more often than you’ll need. It’s a tough choice determining how long your smartphone screen should stay lit before it switches off. In this poll, we wanted to know what Android Authority readers decided on for their screen timeout period. Here’s what you told us. How long is your screen timeout set for? Results We gave readers seven common options ranging from 15 seconds to more than 10 minutes, and just short of 2,900 votes were tallied across the board. Interestingly, there’s no one clear winner.

We’ve even seen great designs from budget devices, such as the Poco M3, Pixel 4a, and Oppo Reno 5 Pro. But there has been one unpleasant design trend in recent times, and that’s the move by some companies to add garish branding across the back of their phones. No, we don’t mean simply having the company name on the lower rear of the phone, but rather the name or slogans running almost all the way across the back of the device. Or simply making the branding so prominent that it becomes the dominant design feature.
