Jimmy Porter s resentencing hearing rescheduled to July The resentencing hearing for a man who killed a family of five in 1982 has been rescheduled.  Jimmy Porter was sentenced to life without parole after killing Bette Giuliani and her four children in their home in Brockway Township.  Originally scheduled for Thursday, Porter s resentencing hearing has been rescheduled for 9 a.m. on July 28 before St. Clair County Circuit Court Judge Michael West.  St. Clair County Chief Assistant Prosecutor Stephen Guilliat said Porter s attorney, Mike Waldo, requested more time to prepare for the hearing.  Porter was 16 at the time of the crime. The now 55-year-old has a chance at a reduced sentence after a 2012 Supreme Court ruling that automatic life sentences for juvenile offenders constitute cruel and unusual punishment. Now, the mitigating factors of the defendant s youth must be considered.
