Chatting to Alison Hammond on Thursday s This Morning, James was asked about the cliffhanger ending of the 2019 Christmas special.
At the end of the festive episode, Ruth Jones character Nessa told Smithy that she loves him, and proposed to him.
Asked if Smithy did indeed say yes, James replied: I honestly don’t know the answer. I’m just as excited to find out as you are. I don’t know, I have no idea.
