A longtime and influential Bucks County Republican has condemned the attack on the U.S. Capitol and misinformation spread by President Donald Trump.
Bucks County Commissioner Gene DiGirolamo, a Republican from Bensalem Township, served for years as a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives before running for his current seat.
“Enough is enough,” DiGirolamo wrote in a letter to Bucks Countians.
Below is DiGirolamo’s letter issued Friday:
Like most Americans, and much of the world, I watched in horror Wednesday as violence unfolded in our nation’s capital.
The words that came to my mind were “disgusting,” “disgraceful” and “painful to watch.” Especially as a lifelong Republican.
