Santa Barbara Unified elementary schools prepare for reopening
Santa Barbara County Public Health officials said the county needed to be below 25 per 100,000 people testing positive for COVID-19. The county is currently at 16.9.
Now principals around the district, including Roosevelt Elementary School and Adams Elementary School, are preparing for in-person learning as soon as next week.
Many schools across the district have few students in-person with remote learning.
Roosevelt Elementary School principal Valerie Galindo said she is excited to hear the loud pattering of her students in the halls.

Only 10 universities nationwide reach this ranking in both categories
Arizona State University is one of only 10 universities that are top producers for both Fulbright Scholar awards for faculty and Fulbright U.S. Student award recipients.
ASU has been a top-20 university for the prestigious Fulbright awards every year for the past 11 years. The rankings were announced on Monday by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, which oversees the Fulbright program.
ASU tied for 13th place overall for faculty Fulbright Scholars, which reflects the total from ASU’s Tempe campus with six awards. Two additional faculty members from the Downtown Phoenix campus were also awarded Fulbrights, for a total of eight universitywide.

New Interactive Experience To Light Up Downtown Bellingham
On Friday March 5
th, PROJECT WE BEAM will light up downtown Bellingham and living rooms everywhere with an interactive art installation for all ages. The hybrid virtual and socially-distanced outdoor event is open to the public and will be viewable on the north wall of the Pickford Film Center from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. during Downtown First Friday.

th grade students from Roosevelt Elementary School alongside moderated live community conversations about topics related to climate change. The program will also be livestreamed on Facebook, YouTube, and Zoom for at-home audiences.
