Premium Content  A 41-year-old man has been sentenced after deliberately coughing on three hospital security guards while screaming he had COVID-19. Graeme David Smith appeared in Redcliffe Magistrates Court on Thursday, January 14, and pleaded guilty to three charges of common assault. The victims were three Redcliffe Hospital security guards. “They also targeted electric bikes at premises.”
Sen-Sgt Edwards said the businesses reported having “several thousands in coins” stolen and several thousands of dollars’ worth of damage.
He said electric bicycles worth $1500 were stolen from Mooloolaba and an electric bike and backpack from Kings Beach worth $4000.
A 50-year-old and 26-year-old are in custody at the Maroochydore watch-house while a 46-year-old woman was bailed.
Sen-Sgt Edwards said the 50-year-old was charged with eight counts of enter a premises and commit an offence.
He the 26-year-old was charged with seven counts of enter and commit, two drug charges and one possess tainted property.
