A family of four has been displaced by an early morning fire.
The Pembroke Fire Department responded to the call for the house fire on Julien Street just before 3:30 a.m. Monday morning. When firefighters arrived, there were smoke and flames coming from the second-storey window, but all residents were out of the house. They were alerted by the smell of smoke in the house, according to a release sent by Fire Chief Dan Herback.

All five family pets also survived the fire.
The department responded code 4 to the incident, bringing all available staff to the scene. Firefighters entered for an interior attack and quickly brought the fire under control, however the fire had extended into other areas of the building.

The Pembroke Fire Department managed to contain a fire to one unit of a five-unit apartment building located at the corner of Mackay and McAllister Streets.
The call for the structure fire came in around 1:45 p.m Tuesday afternoon. The PFD responded to a report of smoke coming from the second floor of the building. The department responded Code 4 to the incident, bringing all available staff to the scene.
